Theme
This field conducts research and education on the improvement of productivity and high quality of agricultural products, focusing on the mechanization and equipment of various processes from agricultural production to distribution. In other words, we conduct research and education on the development and performance improvement of various power and work machinery for primary agricultural production, technology to increase productivity by improving the efficiency of cultivation systems, and secondary agricultural production, i.e., processing, storage, distribution technology and systemization for the efficient use of agricultural products. In these fields, not only how to efficiently produce, process, and use agricultural products, but also how to pursue safety and comfort in consideration of ergonomics, robotization, and unmanned systems are being realized.

The following two research projects are being conducted in this field The department consists of the following two laboratories, and students are assigned to a laboratory at the beginning of the first semester of their fourth year. Students are assigned to a laboratory at the beginning of the first semester of their fourth year, and the laboratory with the highest grades will be assigned to the student with the highest aspirations.

Future Prospects
Agriculture has already developed from a primary industry of sustainable food production based on land productivity and labor productivity to a modern secondary and tertiary industry of processing and distribution, and this trend is becoming more and more pronounced. In addition, with the development of biotechnology in breeding, cultivation, food processing, etc., research on machinery, equipment, and facilities that can cope with these developments will be a future issue in this field.

In the future, this field is expected to make great progress in the pursuit of agricultural production and effective utilization of agricultural products by taking a multifaceted and comprehensive view of problems and making full use of advanced technologies such as mechatronics and electronics while emphasizing the environment and biofunctions.
